Concept Art – Gamer Main Set

We created a game show mixing live-action and video games. Spike funded a mini-pilot. We used a mix of photos and art to create these images. The main set is designed to look like computer components, a long hall and we used action figures from Mark’s series seaQuest for the participants.

Concept Art – 02 The Key Interior

Mark Simon wrote and directed the animated short, The Key, for Toon Boom Animation. This piece was inspired by anime and is a contemporary workshop/home for our two lead characters. The car they are fighting over is hanging from the chains.

Concept Art, Theme Park – Goliath Ride

We provided a series of concept illustrations for a proposed them park to be built in Louisiana. This piece featured the Goliath dark ride. The passengers moved along in their ride vehicles, shooting lasers at targets. The ride vehicles were designed to look like chariots and the lasers look like spears.

This piece was for the Eden attraction, which featured a dome constructed to look like it was all natural construction. Character Design – Waterboy

Do you remember Adam Sandler’s hit film The Waterboy? Mark Simon does. He designed all the team logos seen in the movie. Mark also drew the tattoo of Roy Orbison seen on Henry Winkler’s ass in the movie. Talk about a claim to fame. Art of the Fonz’s ass. Wow.

Character Design – Camel Wars 1

We had a crew of 3 artists working on concept art, character design and storyboards on the live-action feature Camel Wars. We all worked on each aspect of the art. We did a huge amount of research for everything from armaments to cloth patterns, Then we pushed the designs to have a slightly fantasy element.
The main warrior designs, shown here, by Alex Saviuk and Mark Simon.
